Akbulut, born in Bayburt in 1993, completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University. He earned his master’s degree in the Department of Movement and Training Sciences at the Institute of Health Sciences, Akdeniz University, and his PhD in the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Institute of Health Sciences, Gazi University. Akbulut began his academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching at the Faculty of Education, Necmettin Erbakan University, where he served for seven years. Since February 2025, he has been continuing his academic work as an Instructor in the Department of Physical Education and Sports at Boğaziçi University. Akbulut also serves as the Head of the Scientific Committee of the Turkish Boxing Federation. As a national athlete, he represented Turkey in boxing at the European and World Championships, and during the preparation process for the Tokyo Olympic Games, he worked as an athletic performance coach for the National Boxing Team. In addition, he has served as an Athletic Performance Coach at Eyüpspor Football Academy, a team competing in the Turkish Super League. Furthermore, by providing performance consultancy to athletes from various sports disciplines, he has combined his field experience with his scientific research. His research areas include sports health, movement and training science, as well as performance measurement and evaluation. He has published articles, project studies, and book chapters at both national and international levels.
